Clinton Receives Endorsement of 4 Former Kentucky Governors!

THIS JUST ANNOUNCED:

"After a landslide victory in West Virginia, the Clinton Campaign today announced that former Kentucky Governors Wendell Ford, Paul Patton, John Brown, and Julian Carroll are endorsing Hillary for President.  The endorsements demonstrate the widespread support Hillary continues to receive throughout the Bluegrass State."

After the whole fiasco of the Edwards' endorsement, this has been overlooked. This is very important! So will the Edwards's endorsement help Obama with the working white class in Kentucky? Absolutely not. Was the timing of this endorsement planned to overshadow the important Clinton victory of West Virginia? Absolutely. Then John Edwards send out an email soliciting money for his organization. Nice Senator...try tact.

Your thoughts?

Re: Clinton Receives Endorsement (1.45 / 11)

This reminds me of the people who approach the finish line in last place at a marathon.

Everybody cheers for them because they hung in there and finished the race.  It's all very nice, but has no impact on the race.  Go Hillary, finish that race!  Clap-clap (point-point).

Re: Clinton Receives Endorsement (1.50 / 2)

That there is what we call HR abuse.

What, you only want comments from people who think like you?  Ooooh, 4 more endorsements for a race that's all but over and an Appalachian state where HRC was destined to win anyway!  Puhlease.  She going to win in Kentucky, we know.  This is not important.

Re: Clinton Receives Endorsement (1.50 / 2)

No one tried to hide your comment. It stands in all its asinine glory, which is all that a 1 rating is intended for: as shorthand for "what an asinine comment."

If you don't like it, you can go back to the binary world of Big Orange.

Thanks for the TR abuse, Inky.  That's one reason this site isn't taken as seriously as some others.  Privileges seem to be based on affiliation instead of quality.

America is not for quitters (2.00 / 5)

And she is the first female to be very viable for this office. I want her to stay in until the convention, because nobody can clinch before that.

Re: America is not for quitters (2.00 / 3)

She has nothing to lose. The party has already turned their backs on her. I think she should go all the way to the convention.

Re: America is not for quitters (1.00 / 1)

She has something to lose: her legacy.  After June 3, the primaries will be over. There will be a MI/FL solution, and the superdelegates will swarm to Obama. She will show more class than some of her supporters and support Obama against McCain.

Heh, that's the ticket...NOT.

HRC's legacy will be a fighter. No one can take that away from her.

Hmmm. If I lived in Kentucky, who would (1.80 / 5)

be most important...John Edwards or four previous governors.

Hmmmm.

Let.  Me.  Think.

I am amazed at the endorsements - r e a l endorsements HRC has received versus the a$$-ki$$ing one$ that Obama claim$.

I live in Colorado... (none / 0)

...and if 4 former governors endorsed Clinton I'd still put Edwards before.  (but then I always was, and still am, and Edwards supporter)

Look, this isn't a game of poker where you can rank different endorsements as beating others.

Different endorsements are going to mean different things to different people for different reasons.

Some people in KY Will value Edwards over the 4 Governors, and some won't.  But there's no reason to be snide and imply that Edwards will be less valuable by default becuase that's not true for everyone.

Plus, the ass kissing comment, Really not cool.

uh...no. (2.00 / 2)

that is your opinion.

your opinion does not equal truth.  that's why it's opinion as opposed to FACT.

Re: Hmmm. If I lived in Kentucky, who would (none / 0)

Kind of depends on what I thought of the governors.  My state has a few I wouldn't give much regard to.

If he doesn't win Kentucky after Edwards (2.00 / 4)

says the cable networks, or at least pull closer, he's got big problems.

Re: Clinton Receives End... 4 Former KY Governors! (2.00 / 2)

Thanks for posting this.  I'd checked for endorsements earlier today, honestly expecting at least quite a few to come out for her today, and was disappointed to not find much.  I'm glad to see this--people stating their support at a time appropriate for their positions unlike so many that do in fact seem to be simply jumping on the Obama bandwagon (sometimes at what seems like very inappropriate times--but these are poiticians and I guess it shows).

HRC: "...not a vote to rush to war--it...puts awesome responsibility in the hands of our President, we say to him 'Use these powers wisely and as a last resort.'"

Know anything about Paul Patton? (none / 0)

Patton got himself in a bit of a scandal that cost Ben Chandler the governor's seat in 2002. Fortunately Kentuckians reversed the Fletcher error in 2006.

Honestly, this is a strange list of former KY governors. Ford, Brown and Carroll served in the 1970s. Patton is the only recent Democratic governor. No Brereton Jones. No Martha Layne Collins!

Ford and Brown and definite bigwigs in KY Democratic politics, though they are very old now.

one word: courage (2.00 / 1)

in the face of ridicule, diminishment of service, slander, insults, and of course, discounting anything that supports HRC.

Some people stand up tall in the face of bullying and ridicule.

Thank you, Kentucky!

Just shows that this isn't over no matter how much BO, his MSM/surrogates, and supporters try in vain to shut Hillary and the voters down.
