Yesterday, I finally had a chance to walk in my own community and talk about the election here in California. Yes, believe it or not, we have competitive races here! One of them happens to be in the 46th Congressional District, where the always wonderful Debbie Cook is running. That's why I was more than happy to go down a few streets from my house to walk the neighborbood and help Debbie win!
Let me tell you how that went.
Rasmussen has released its latest poll wave, and the results are great for Obama:
In Ohio, he takes the lead for the first time in a Rasmussen poll, 49% to 47%.
Art Alexakis has been Portland, Oregon's Bruce Springsteen for the last few election cycles and it definitely appears that this one will be not different. Enjoy!!!
Of corruption that is, not stupidity. I still think that just sending people out to register voters on a quasi-commission basis was a dumb move, and my biggest fear isn't that Obama or other Democrats will be tainted with voter fraud charges. My concern is that this will provide Republicans with more excuse to purge voter rolls and cage anybody registered by ACORN.
Obviously there's no way these false voter registrations can impact the election unless people actually show up to vote under these names. It doesn't seem likely. In fact, using celebrity names would be a stupid way to go about it. This is obviously a problem of ACORN being taken by economically desperate individuals who either should not have been hired at all, or otherwise supervised much more closely.
Let us not deny the fact that our candidate is riding the wave that is actually destroying the American economy. If the Dow goes above 10500 the economy will be off the table as an issue and Sen. Obama could be in a lot of trouble.
According to press reports most Obama advisors were watching the market very nervously it is believed that they prefer the economy and market to be in the doldrums till the Election Day.
I think it would be a mistake to put all the eggs in one basket and depend on a lousy economy.
Help Missourians for Cleaner Cheaper Energy get our new TV ad in front of Missouri voters:
There is Power in the wind and the sun.
Power to create new energy that's cleaner, cheaper.
It is the Power to create new industries, new businesses right here in Missouri.
But most of all it is the Power to create thousands of new Missouri jobs and put people back to work.
The KET debate is going on as scheduled tonight. Heather Ryan will be there to debate the issues effecting Kentucky and the Nation, however the cowardly lion Exxon Ed Whitfield is a no-show.

Adam Nagourney writes up a breezy little list of six what-if scenarios that might cause McCain to win the presidency. None of the points, except perhaps one of them, actually reflects a dynamic currently in play; even if the one might be in play, they are all contingencies that rely on speculation about what might happen. They sort of fall into the, "if wishes were horses," category.
